A:During the first session your therapist will ask you to explain why you are seeking services. The therapist will ask many questions about your life experiences, and will talk with you about your desired treatment goals. If you are seeking services for a child, the therapist will also conduct a thorough developmental history. If additional evaluation or testing is indicated, your therapist will discuss this with you. Plans for future sessions will also be discussed.

A: Counseling is all about the relationship, and more often than not a relationship is best formed in-person.
